MIKE HUCKABEE'S IS OVER THE TOP

Mike Huckabee's mixing of his evangelical passion, and his desire to become President of the United States, is bordering on just plain foolish! He is way over the top.
The only pulpit he belongs on is one inside a Baptist church, (no disrespect to the Baptists).
His pandering to the evangelical right wing of the Republican party is reaching new heights. It's a damn good thing that 63% of the country disagrees with his statements that the US Constitution should be amended to reflect God's values, as opposed to the Constitution's values.
If and when someone wants to pray or worship and where or how, is no one's business but their own. And Mike Huckabee's personal view of what his God's values are, are just that, HIS VIEWS. He may have people who agree with him, but they will almost certainly not reflect the views of everyone, including the members of hundreds of other religions that populate this marvelous country.
I've read through both the Declaration of Independence, and the United States Constitution.
You can find a reference to God, and Creator in the Declaration of Independence, which shows that the founding fathers did share a belief in a God. However, nowhere in the United States Constitution will you find a mention of God. The founders wrote it that way for a reason! The fact of the matter is, that the 1st (and most important )amendment to the constitution, protects some of the most basic human rights. And, it reflects the founders view of the dangerous places that governments might tread. It expressly states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;" Many of the first colonists for which our constitution was written, came here to escape religious persecution. There is a time and place for God, and Government is definitely not the place! Government is "for the people", and "by the people".
So, if Mike Huckabee wants to preach, (and frankly, he does it well), he should go back to being a Baptist minister. He can preach all he wants to about God, in church. He cannot however do it as President of these United States.
If you need any examples of secular governments, there are many, such as Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iran, etc. etc.
Need I say more?
