GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

My father-in-law passed from this earth on January 5th, 2009, just a little over six months after he was diagnosed with Non Small Cell Lung Cancer.
No matter how prepared everyone thinks they may be an event like this, where there is plenty of warning, and you know it is going to happen, it still is a terribly painful and emotional experience.
My wife flew home, and arrived just 3 hours before her father breathed his last. We are so grateful that he had the strength to hang on until she arrived. Our two sons and I drove through the night, two days later to join her and the rest of the family to celebrate his life and to inter his ashes in one of the columbariums at Fort Snelling Military cemetery in St. Paul Minnesota.
It was truly a touching emotional time for us all. It is still hard to believe he is gone from us.
Gone, but not forgotten.

A harsh way to go that cancer is. I am sorry for your loss. My prayers for you and Marla and your boys are already on their way.
