GREAT SUPER BOWL GAME, TASTELESS ADS

This years Super Bowl was a really great game, between pretty evenly matched teams. No matter who you may have been rooting for, it was a fun game to watch!  And, most of the commercial ads, which have become a much looked forward to event in their own right, were mostly humorous and well done. However, some of the ads in particular I must take issue with.
The SafeAuto ad depicting a man being repeatedly kicked in the testicles, while a narrator drones on about auto insurance, was in my opinion crass, tasteless, and not in the least bit funny. It sure didn't sell me on SafeAuto.  And Groupon, the online coupon site aired spots that were also in my view, offensive. In one ad, the actor Timothy Hutton laments that the people of Tibet are in trouble, and that their culture is in jeopardy, while pictures of Tibet and it's people are being shown on screen. The camera then pans back, and we see he is in a restaurant, as he continues on about the good deal on curry fish soup that Groupon is offering.  In another equally inappropriate Groupon ad, the actress Elizabeth Hurley decries the current deforestation of rain forests, while again pictures of the same flash on the screen. Then, she segues into a pitch for a deal on "Brazilian Wax" services.
It's a shame that ad agencies now apparently feel they must resort to vulgar and crass attempts at humor to sell their products.
