Hmmmm. Ya just never know.

I chose some time ago, to sign up for a online health account, in order to have easy access to my medical records. My employer provides annual wellness checks at my work place, and after this years check, which includes a full blood draw, I went on line to check my results. I got to looking at various test results, and when I accessed my PSA levels for the last 3 years, and was surprised to learn that it has been increasing since 2010. Not a great deal mind you, but trending upwards nevertheless.  I went in for a routine check up this week, and coincidentally my Dr. brought up this trend. He was concerned about the trend, and referred me to a Urologist.  Made the visit today, and after a quick exam, he wanted to sign me up for a prostrate biopsy! WTF???
I've done some research, and for now I'm disinclined to take his advice. My PSA levels are well within normal limits, and I have no symptoms or complaints regarding prostrate related issues.
I've read and heard much about the inherent risks surrounding biopsies of the prostrate gland, and how there are many urologists who make lots of $$ prescribing biopsies that are not really necessary. I guess I should probably seek a second opinion?
stay tuned.
