Time travel may be possible after all. Travel into the past, that is.
Since January 20th, the newly elected President has issued executive orders and false statements in an effort to move our nation back to a more dangerous time. Civil liberties are being assailed. Immigrants are either detained or turned away. The free press is denigrated daily, in the harshest language, and 'Alternative facts' are now the rule of the day. Free speech and the right to peaceful decent is being threatened. Bellicose language is publicly used against private citizens, as well as global friends and foes alike. Republicans lawmakers have scrapped regulations that prohibit coal mining companies from dumping debris into rivers and streams. We also learn house Republicans are backing a resolution to do away with extended background checks on gun purchases, by social security recipients who have mental disabilities. The President's next target is to eliminate political limits on churches.Remember the Church of England, and the principal reason the Pilgrims arrived on these shores. Our founding fathers, for all the right reasons, went to great pains to make sure church and state are kept completely separate. And, when the acting Attorney General of this nation gets fired in the middle of the night, for refusing to defend an order from the President that she clearly believes is unconstitutional, it is time to be afraid. He is not above the law, and he is not King.
