Rio de Janeiro to host 2016 Olympics

This was breaking news on the CNN website this morning. And I for one am glad that Chicago (a mere 2 hours north of Normal Illinois, where I live), did not win the rights for the games.
The state's financial house is near collapse, and the state government seems to be as useless as "teats on a boar", as the saying goes.
Rio has budgeted over $14 billion, (yes, billion with a B), to host the games. Maybe they have the dough. I know that Illinois does not. The games in Chicago would be just another taxpayer subsidized venture, with a few well-heeled players making money hand over fist on the deal, and leaving the state in greater financial ruin than it already is, (if that is even possible).
Besides, where would you rather go for summer Olympics? The sunny climes of Rio, where the beaches are bursting with beauties, or Chicago, the "Windy City", with it's picturesque skyline and lake Michigan..... I know where I'd go!
