Just another day....albeit a beautiful fall day, with bright sunny skies, a pleasant 68 degrees, and a riot of fall colors everywhere you look.
We're going eat dinner with friends tonight. A sort of traveling gourmet club that takes place every other month or so, depending upon every one's schedule.
Each couple contributes something to the meal, with the hosts providing the main course(s).
Tonight, the menu is to be a Tapas style dinner with red meats and fish dishes prepared by the hosts. I've prepared a bruschetta topped with portobello mushrooms baked in a balsamic vinegar marinade, caramelized onions, baby arugula, and roasted red bell peppers. I'll top it with an lively tasting Rosemary Aioli sauce. And, Marla has baked a lovely, delicate Orange Almond cake, for which I've purchased a delightful bottle of ALVEAR SOLERA PEDRO XIMENEZ Cream Sherry.
The evening should be a wonderful combination of great friends, great food and libation!.
