Tis The Season

It was finally time to get the old snow blower out this weekend. December 14th, before we had a snowfall with enough accumulation to require it's use. Now, here we are on Sunday morning, after a day and a half of snow and wind. It looks damn cold out there, and we must have 4 or five inches of the white stuff!
I don't know about everyone else's experience, but every winter, the first time I use that contraption, it is always a struggle to get the damn thing started. It's like trying to wake a bear out of hibernation! My blower has an electric start, however this season it did not make a peep. And of course, with snow piling up there is no way I'm going to take it in for service. No siree. I pulled on that start cord until my arm was ready to drop off, and finally got it started.
And let me tell you, even with the hassles of starting the engine, it beats shoveling all to hell!
So, this morning, after last nights continued snowing and blowing, I'll be back out there again with my reluctant snow blower, clearing off the walks and driveway.
