HOLIDAY TRAVEL

After much deliberation and hmmm-ing and hawww-ing, I've made the decision to travel to Dallas Texas over the Christmas Holiday.   My wife and I, and possibly both of our sons will travel from our home in Illinois, to Minneapolis for the Christmas Holiday, which has been our tradition over the years. We can make the drive in about 7 hours. Dallas is a much longer trip, and usually consumes a full  day and a half of driving. Air fare for 4 people has not been in our budget, therefore my we have not been able to spend Christmas holidays with my side of the family.
This year, will be different. Both my parents are now in their 80's, and  I feel it is important to make the trip.  In addition, my brother Martin who resides in Ulsan South Korea, will be there, as will my sister Liz who will travel from South Dakota where she lives.  I will fly out of Minneapolis, and leave my wife and at least one of our sons, to make the drive back to Illinois without me, which makes me nervous, what with winter driving conditions and all.  And, although I'm looking forward to seeing my parents and siblings, I am dreading the hassles of the airports, and flying in general.  Flying is a drag on a good day. Flying over the holidays is something I have historically avoided at all costs.
